T-Palette groups Negicco, Vanilla Beans, lyrical school, Idol Renaissance, and One Little Kiss will be releasing an album of Pizzicato Five covers! Pizzicato Five was one of the groups responsible for shaping the Shibuya-kei sound during the 1990s until their disbandment in 2001. Titled “Idol Bakari Pizzicato -Konishi Yasuharu x T-Palette Records-“, the album will be produced and have art direction from Konishi who was the producer of Pizzicato Five.

Given that Pizzicato Five has not been around for almost 15 years, it will be understandable if some people not into Shibuya-kei music might be wondering who they were. Because they disbanded before the invention of YouTube, there is no official channel but you can definitely find a lot of their music on their if you just search. “Idol Bakari Pizzicato -Konishi Yasuharu x T-Palette Records-” looks like a unique opportunity to introduce a new generation to some songs that sounded retro even 20 years ago when they were new.
