While the timetable has yet to be revealed “Hello! Project COUNTDOWN PARTY 2014 GOOD BYE & HELLO!” looks like yet another of many options for those wondering to do in Japan over the New Year’s holiday. Traditionally in Japan people spend time with their families eating fancy food and watching shows like Kouhaku Uta Gassen (also known as Red-White Song Festival) but unless you are a really big fan of enka, it can get a little boring after the first hour.
With two concerts in Osaka’s Orix Theater and one at Kobe’s Kokusai Hall, those in the Kansai region are in for a special treat. Featuring Berryz Kobo, ℃-ute, Morning Musume ’14, S/Mileage, Juice=Juice, Country Girls, LovendoR, Bitter & Sweet, The POSIBOOOOO, You Kikkawa, and UPUP GIRLS (KARI), it’s the idol music equivalent of osechi (painstakingly made bento made during New Year’s in Japan)! For those not near Osaka or Kobe, the concerts will be broadcast live to movie theaters across Japan and there is also an option to watch it on your computer or mobile phone (make sure your battery is charged!).
Even though many people will also be rushing to some crowded place like Shibuya or Roppongi to countdown until the New Year in Tokyo, if you have already done it before, do you really have to do it again? It’s like Halloween but without the cool, cute costumes and a lot more police. If you are a Hello! Project fan, why not stay inside where it’s warm and see all the performances that you know you’ll love?
