For the second night in a row, fans gathered at Tokyo Dome City Hall for AKB48 Set List Request Hour Best 1035 2015″ on January 22 were treated to an opening performance by a graduated member. This time it was Yuko Oshima reuniting with Rino Sashihara, Yui Yokoyama, and Rie Kitahara for their sub-unit’s debut single “Shuumatsu Not yet” (#169).
Yuko Oshima may have graduated from AKB48 last June but, as the self-proclaimed “ever-changing entertainer” (the term comes from her catchphrase when she was in AKB48), she didn’t seem to miss a step in her return to the stage. Oshima commented, “I got so excited to see everyone again!” Her appearance warmed the hearts of fans and group members alike.
In addition to the countdown of requested songs, Mayu Ogasawara (AKB48 TeamB) and Riho Kotani (NMB48 Team N/AKB48 Team 4) performed “Inu-chan Neko-chan”, a song that they wrote the music and lyrics and came up with the choreography for by themselves.
Of the 30 songs counted down, almost half of them were from AKB48’s sister groups; 4 each for NMB48 and HKT48 and 6 for SKE48.
Rena and Jurina Matsui unveiled the new trailer for “Idol no Namida DOCUMENTARY of SKE48” which opens in theaters in Japan on February 27th. With the title change and dramatic footage in the trailer, expect to see the “tears of idols” (translation of the title) flow freely next month!
During ” Omoide no Hotondo” (#142), originally a duet between Minami Takahashi and Atsuko Maeda from AKB48’s second album “1830m”, Takahashi began crying as she sang and put her head on Minami Minegishi’s shoulder as she was overcome with emotion.
During the encore, after AKB48 performed “Koko ga Rhodes da, Koko de Tobe!”, Haruna Kojima took the stage to sing her solo song from the album, “7-kai-me no ‘Les Mis'”. As with the night before, the concert ended with “Kibouteki Refrain”. Although the opening of the second day was again marked by the return of a “Kami 7” (term used by the media to refer to the 7 most popular members which were originally: Atsuko Maeda, Yuko Oshima, Mariko Shinoda, Mayu Watanabe, Minami Takahashi, Haruna Kojima, and Tomomi Itano) member, Oshima did not stay to perform Gingham Check (AKB48’s 27th single where she was voted in as center). There are still 140 more songs to go until “AKB48 Set List Request Hour Best 1035 2015” ends on January 25th so it is possible that the number of graduate members taking the stage will increase by then?
