Namie Amuro unleashes the fury of Misa Amane aka Second Kira in the MV for “Fighter” from her double A-side single “Dear Diary/Fighter” (release date: October 26) as the October 29th opening day of “Death Note Light Up the NEW World” approaches!
Set in a floating building anchored high above a dark and stormy sea, Amuro appears alongside several of the series’ Shinigami, even sharing a dinner table with Ryuk. It seems as if Amuro might actually be a Shinigami herself because how else can it be explained that she still looks so amazing even though she just celebrated her 39th birthday on September 20th?
Revealed a week earlier, the MV for “Dear Diary”, the theme song of the film, is a ballad inspired by the movie’s title and has a much more hopeful tone to it. Amuro stands on a beach at sunrise as several giant bottles with people living inside them float near the shore. As the seals on the bottles melt away, the new world begins to light up.
“Dear Diary/Fighter” will be released in a limited edition CD/DVD version and a regular CD version. The DVD includes the full length MVs for “Dear Diary” and “Fighter”. Amuro continues her LIVE STYLE 2016-2017 tour through its 34 cities and 88 performances with it finally concluding at Tokyo International Forum on March 31, 2017.
