Trapped by Shinigami Ryuk?! Namie Amuro Sings for The Film “Death Note Light Up the New World”

It was announced that Namie Amuro will provide the theme song for the new “Death Note” film, “Death Note Light Up the NEW World” which will be released at theaters in Japan on October 29th, 2016.
The theme song by Amuro is titled “Dear Diary” and is a ballad song inspired by the movie’s title, dealing with believing in love and soldiering on through life’s challenges. Amuro’s other song “Fighter” will also be used in the movie. This song is an aggressive dance tune and singing about the movie’s heroine Misa Amane’s thoughts (played by Toda Erika). “Dear Diary” and “Fighter” will be released as a double A-side single (release date TBA).

“Death Note” movie series have been using non-Japanese singers songs as theme songs, such as Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lenny Kravitz, however the producer of the movie decided to use Japanese singer’s song to make the movie real Japan made.
