Revolution! Viral Videos! Ghost Classmates? All MVs for AKB48’s “Green Flash” are Here!
The final 3 MVs from AKB48’s upcoming 39th single “Green Flash” (release date: March 4) have finally been revealed!
“Aisatsu Kara Hajimeyo” (Type-H version) is set in a YouTube-like video streaming site and shows the members of Team 8 showing off the scenery of their hometowns. It has a bit of a crowdsourced feel to it with the members dancing together even if they are spread out all over Japan. Is it possible that it will get to 48, 484,848 views in 48 days like it shows in the video?
“Otona Ressha” (Type-H version) opens with Haruka Kodama but, the story revolves around Sakura Miyawaki sitting in an attic, looking wistfully at a photo album. Kodama and Rino Sashihara appear by her side but she cannot see them. Is this some sort of throwback to the concept used in “Sakura no Ki ni Narou” but instead of Jurina Matsui being a ghost, the rest of HKT Senbatsu are all ghosts? We’ll have to wait until the full-length video comes out!
“Punkish” (Type-N version) is a fast punk-rock style song showcasing Sayaka Yamamoto’s powerful vocals as she leads a demonstration straight down an Osaka shotengai (shopping arcade) with members and obasans holding up signs with “thriving business” (shoubai hanjou), “Namba Banzai!”, “Anti-Luxury” (zeitaku hantai), and “Love Ban” (ren’ai kinshi) written on them. With other scenes featuring NMB48 Senbatsu playing in a band in the middle of a construction site (or maybe it’s a shanty town?) and other members in a hostess bar, “Punkish” shows the glitter and grit (and leopard print) that makes Osaka one of the most colorful places in Japan.
