Who Got Chocolate from Them?! Momoiro Clover Z’s Valentine Live Concert Report Held at Budokan

On February 11th, Momoiro Clover Z hold their annual Valentine Concert supported by Nippon Housou radio, at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo.

The concert started with a special magic show by famous Japanese magician Mr. MARIC in a mysterious atmosphere. His spectacle magic show warmed up the atmosphere, and in a response to his call, Momoiro Clover Z started overture. Welcomed by fans’ call, the members appeared and performed their newest Christmas Song “Koyoi Live no Moto de”. The cute track singing the feeling looking forward to the start of live is the best for the first song.

The next song they performed was “reversal”, a cover song of “words of the mind ~brand-new journey~. They’be been thinkint this strenuous dancing track since 2009, so it is one of their standard tracks to ignite the fans! In a short MC after that, they made self-introduction and moved on to the next track “WE ARE BORN” from their new album. It was the first time to performa the song in front of the audience! They continued on famous tracks “Saraba Itoshiki Kanashimi Tachi Yo” and “Kasou Dystopia” after that.

First attraction “Momoclo Test” started during the live. Members challenged to answer questions prepared by fans, and the winner among the members could battle against the “Secret King” of the quiz. If the winner among the members beats the king, she gets “Special Gift”. Guess what the gift is? As you would guess, the “Special Gift’ was Chocolate. The winner among the members was Reni Takagi, but she lost the challenge, and the Secret King presented the sweet gift to fans in Budokan.

Finishing exciting Momoclo Test part, a solo songs part started. It was their first solo performance continuing long time and fans recognized that their skill got leveled up through several years. Shiori trilled her first solo track “…Ai Desuka?”, released in 2011 singing the feeling of young girl’s love. A-rin’s masterpiece “Datte A-rin Nandamo-nn” united the Budokan with the calling of “A-rin MIX”. In another attraction part “Momoclo Comedy” after the solo part, members challenged some comedy with the assistance by famous comedian Takahiro Azuma, making the audience laughed so much. After that, more intense live part started again with upbeating track “GOUNN”. They sandwiched new tracks and old tracks together well, “Roudou Sanka”, “Chai Maxx”, “Orange Note”, “Kuroi Syumatsu” and “Hashire!”, closing the main live part with a quiet track “Seisyun-fu”.

Soon after the members disappeared from the stage, the call for encore by enthusiastic fans started. Responding to the audience’s call for encore, they made short encore. Momoclo Drama, which is also a standard program in the annual Valentine Live, featuring Reni Takagi in this year. In the drama, Reni become not to be able to open her fist because of a magic, and the drama shows friendship among the members through their tackling the difficulties. At the end of the day, they expressed their gratitude with a cover track “Arigatou”.

On February 17th 2016, Momoiro Clover Z released their 3rd and 4th album “AMARANTHUS” and “Hakkin no Yoake” including 20 new tracks. Momoiro Clover Z presented sophisticated performance based on well composed setlist including both old and new tracks and gave chocolate to their fans!
