Breaking: Mari Takahashi Announces Her Graduation From Dorothy Little Happy

Dorothy Little Happy member Mari Takahashi has announced her graduation from the group in December 2018.

The group started with 5 members in 2010, but after Kana Shirato retired from the entertainment industry in July 2017 it became Takahashi’s solo project.

Takahashi left a comment on the group’s official website with an apology and message of gratitude to the fans: “I’m sorry I can’t continue to protect the Dorothy Little Happy that everyone loved and treasured. On July 7 we’ll have our 8th anniversary. I decided to make this announcement before that day. Thank you so much for all the support and small joys that you delivered to Dorothy!”

The details for the graduation performance in December will be announced at a later date.

私は皆さんが大好きで、そして皆さんのために歌うことが大好きです。みんなのアイドル髙橋麻里としてこれからも生きたい。それはずっと変わらないからね♡

Mari Takahashi’s comment:

“To all the fans who have always supported us, I have an important announcement.

I, Mari Takahashi, will graduate from Dorothy Little Happy by the end of the year.

I’ve also moved from Step One, the agency that I’d been with since elementary school, and am now working with Object.

I’m sorry to make everyone sad with such sudden news.

I’m sorry I can’t continue to protect the Dorothy Little Happy that everyone loved and treasured.

There are feelings of regret of choosing to graduate and not being able to fulfil the goals that I had last year when I was continuing my activities alone.

It’s lonely not being able to sing with Dorothy Little Happy anymore.

But I thought about it a lot and made a decision.

On July 7 we’ll have our 8th anniversary. I decided to make this announcement before that day. Thank you so much for all the support and small joys that you delivered to Dorothy!

Until the day of my graduation, until the very end, I want to treasure the time I have with everyone as a member of Dorothy Little Happy.

Please watch after me from now on too. Thank you for your support.”
