15,000 People Gathered in Harajuku! The Best Kawaii Festival in the World Went Over with a Bang!

HARAJUKU KAWAii!! FES 2013, a free large-scale event that involved whole Harajuku town for 2 days (Oct 5 & Oct 6), succeed in a big way!
The festival was held under the theme “to make ‘KAWAII’ the global keyword of fashion.” Lots of Aomoji-kei models, world famous artists and creators participated also this year. At the venue, not only Japanese but also many foreigner enjoyed the festival.

This time, it took place at three venues : Laforet Museum, Harajuku Quest Hall, and Harajuku Astro Hall. Fashion shows and live concerts were held at each venue.
At the main hall “Laforet Museum”, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu showcased her upcoming single “Mottai Night Land” for the first time, and other various artists such as held live performances. Not only that, there were various stages such as Nakagawa Shoko’s talk show, Aomoji-kei magazine’s fashion show, and Zipper × ASOBI SYSTEM exclusive model audition. Also at other venues, performances that are rich in variety across each genres were held.

At the end of the festival, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and all models gathered together on the stage. With shout of “HARAJUKU” “KAWAii!!”, they took a commemorative photo with visitors, then finished the event held over 2 days in great success.

Furthermore, “HARAJUKU KAWAii!!” will spread to other cities this year. On November 17th, it will take place at Hiroshima NTT Cred Hall. On December 1st, it will take place at Okinawa Convention Center Exhibition Hall.
