Viva DIVA! The Final Concert has Ended but DIVA Will Live on Forever in Our Hearts!

AKB48 subgroup DIVA held their farewell concert before an audience of 7,500 fans at Makuhari Messe on November 30th.

Beginning with their last single “DISCOVERY”, DIVA gave a solid 11 song 90-minute performance packed with sharp dance moves and soaring vocals. Sae Miyazawa commented: “I had no idea we would get this many people to come. Back when we had an event here for our second single, it was pretty empty. To see that we’ve come so far in a few short years was more than I could have imagined.”

Even with all the events going on, it seems like AKB48’s Minami Takahashi, Mariko Nakamura, Shihori Suzuki, and Yuuka Tano as well as former members Yuko Oshima and Misato Nonaka were at the concert.

During the encore Ayaka Umeda became overwhelmed with emotion as DIVA performed “For tenderness”, a song with lyrics written by the original 4 members of the group (Umeda, Miyazawa, Sayaka Akimoto, and Yuka Masuda) and Yuko Oshima. After the concert Sayaka Akimoto commented: “Even though we will parting ways here, I am happy that DIVA will continue to live on in people’s hearts.”
