Atsuko Maeda’s New Film “Sayonara Kabuki-Cho” is Delicate, Fantastical, and Voluptuous

On November 7th, a movie trailer for “Sayonara Kabuki-Cho”, which starts off with actress Atsuko Maeda’s heart beating phrase “Wanna do it?”, and accompanying visual poster have been released.

This movie takes place in Kabuki-cho, Shinjuku, and is about Toru (Shota Sometani), a love hotel manager, and Saya (Atsuko Maeda), who is dreaming to become a famous musician. The story is about men and women of colorful backgrounds and different ages and occupations who gather at the hotel.

The movie trailer starts off with the heart beating phrase “Wanna do it?” delivered by Saya (Atsuko Maeda), who wants to become a famous musician, and you catch a glimpse of the awkward scene where Saya (Atsuko Maeda) walks in with a male stranger to the love hotel where Toru (Shota Sometani) works and happens to encounter Toru by accident. You see the bittersweet feelings that exist among the unique characters of the men and women, and you will wonder about the story behind Toru’s and Saya’s tears in the movie trailer.
