Nana Okada selected as the Center! : AKB48’s New Single “Ja-Ba-Ja” MV Release

The MV of AKB48‘s new single, “Ja-Ba-Da” was released. It will be on sale from March 14th 2018. 51st single, “Ja-Ba-Da” is a flashy and funky song. Nana Okada who is also the captain of STU48 is selected at the center position.
“Ja-Ba-Da” is a word created by Yasushi Akimoto. It does not have a meaning, but it is a magical word which makes you want to repeat saying it.
In the MV, members wearing the flashiest costumes in AKB48 history work hard to prepare for the school festival which celebrates the coming of spring.
The director of the MV and the designer of the CD jacket is YKBX who also directed the MV of Namie Amuro’s “Showtime” and “Hero”. The choreography was created by CRE8BOY, an up-and-coming choreography group. The “Ja-Ba-Ja dance” at the chorus is impressive.

This song which I did my first center position for was unexpected in terms of the flashiness of the music and MV.
Usually I get to sing rather cool songs, but this time, I will work hard to show a new side of me to everyone!
I think the MV can give you strength through the spring colors and smiles of the members.
Not knowing it was recorded, I often did a funny face at the camera, and it was used, so please check that too! (laugh)I think you can enjoy every second of the MV.

I had a chance to take part in AKB48’s start of a new journey including Nana Okada chosen as the center and other members who were chosen for their first time. I tried to express the worldview which celebrates spring in a fresh and funky way.
Setting the story of AKB48 members celebrating spring in a clumsy but sincere way at the core, I expressed the colors of spring in the brightest way as possible, and the design of the CD jacket also links to the MV.
I’d like to thank the members who danced and sang through the end in spite of the coldness and the strong wind. I would also like to wish for their further glory.
