UPUPGIRLS (KARI) Complete Their Set of Collaboration MVs With the Release of “Runway”!

At last, the 5th and final MV from UPUPGIRLS (KARI)’s third album “THIRD ALBUM (KARI)” (release date: March 17) has been released! The 5 MVs were was part of a project collaborating with several rising Japanese creators.
In the MV for “Runway”, which was produced by KASICO, who previously was responsible for UPUPGIRLS (KARI)’s MVs for “Jumper! (JUMP JUMP JUMP version)” and “Chopper☆Chopper”, leader Minami Sengoku takes a leisurely stroll through the streets of Shibuya. Meeting up with the rest of the group, they march down Omote-sando Dori in slow-motion to end the video. If you notice that the people in the background of the video are still wearing winter clothes, UPUPGIRLS (KARI) must have been a little cold during filming that day!
It was thought that the MV for “Runway” would have been released shortly after the one for “Bijo no Yajuu”, which appeared on UPUPGIRLS (KARI)’s YouTube channel on March 20th, especially after the ones for “Jumper! (JUMP JUMP JUMP version)”, “Niji Iro Mosaic”, and “Kira Kira Mirai” were released around the same time as the album, which is why there wasn’t an article introducing it earlier. Sadly, there are no classic kaiju in the video for Ayano Sato, Saki Mori, or Konatsu Furukawa to battle with but, there is still some fierce dancing set in a room blasted with strobe lights.
THIRD ALBUM (KARI) comes in a First Press limited Edition version which includes a DVD of their performance at KINGDOM HALL in Aichi during “UPUPGIRLS (KARI) Live House Tour 2014 High Spurt Kingdom”. Because UPUPGIRLS (KARI) are on T-Palette (Tower Records Japan’s idol specialty label), if you order either version using Tower Records Japan online, there is a bonus DVD with backstage footage of their Osaka and Nagoya performances from 2014.
UPUPGIRLS (KARI) have started their 47-prefecture tour, so you have no excuse not to see them if you are somewhere in Japan. As Azusa Sekine said at @JAM the Field vol. 7 back in February, “even if you only have 1 minute, please come!”
