Japanese anime have their own word for boys who are so feminine that they might be even more girly than the girl characters themselves. They’re called otokonoko, meaning “male daughter”, and have risen in popularity the past decade. The closest translation to English would be the slang terminology “trap”.
These otokonoko don’t have a specific sexuality or style, as the only requirement is that their looks can pass as a girls.
With that in mind, let’s look at the best otokonokos according to Japanese fans!
1. Hideyoshi Kinoshita in Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts
2. Maraich from Patalliro!
3. Saika Totsuka from My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU!
4. Luka Urushibara from Steins;Gate
5. Hime Arikawa from Himegoto
Any Re:Zero fan would’ve expected to see a certain cat-eared fellow in the top 5 list, but it seems like Japanese anime fans have some catching up to do. Sorry, Felix!
