Seira Hatanaka Announces Graduation from Nogizaka 46. Vows to “Equip Herself With Weapons” Necessary to Become a Proper Adult.

On February 5, it was announced that founding member Seira Hatanaka would be graduating from Nogizaka 46 at the group’s April 4th handshake event in Nagoya.
In an entry posted to the Nogizaka 46 blog, Hatanaka explained that despite having a lot of great experiences in the over 3 years that she has been in the group, having moved to Tokyo from rural Oita prefecture, she missed her friends and family. She expressed a desire to see what kind of adult she could become without having to rely on the support of Nogizaka 46, saying she wanted to equip herself with “all kinds of weapons” in order to do so. Even though it was a metaphor, perhaps there were some of you who just imagined her with battle armor and swords or something.
Seira Hatanaka was a senbatsu member for Nogizaka 46’s 2nd single “Oide, Shampoo” and participated in many of the coupling songs. Hatanaka’s final performance as a Nogizaka 46 member will be at the “3rd YEAR BIRTHDAY LIVE” at Seibu Dome on February 22th.
