As a student specializing in piano at Tokyo College of Music and one of the members of the biggest idol group in the world, balancing the two must not have been easy.

In a blog entry posted the following day, Matsui expressed her gratitude at being able to do so many things that she would not have as a normal college student but, for the sake of her dreams, she had to make a choice. Due to her busy schedule, Matsui had taken a break from her studies and had just returned in April after a 2-year absence. She released an album titled “Kokyuu suru Piano” in 2012, making her the first member of AKB48 to release an instrumental album. Her final event with the group has not yet been confirmed.
