Momoiro Clover Z go for the gold in the MV for their new single “BLAST!” (release date: August 2)!
Following up on the 1 minute interlude teaser for the main track appeared on their official YouTube channel, where the members ask themselves questions about fighting out the battle of life, the theme of the music video “BLAST!” is a fictional sports event with the members of Momoiro Clover Z become athletes and compete at the highest level: Kanako Momota (judo), Shiori Tamai (fencing), Ayaka Sasaki (weightlifting), and Momoka Ariyasu and Reni Takagi (table tennis).
Another point to note is that several famous Japanese athletes make guest appearance in the MV. Can you find them? Kanae Yamabe, judo bronze medalist (Rio 2016) faces off against Kanako Momota. Hiromi Miyake, silver medalist in London 2012 and bronze medalist in Rio 2016 acts at Ayaka Sasaki’s weightlifting coach. Karin Miyawaki, a young and promising fencer fights against Shiori Tamai. Former figure skater Nobunari Oda cheers on Ariyasu and Takagi as their coach as they compete against Futaba Kudo and Mayumi Nakamura.
