lyrical school just changed the game with their smartphone MV for their major label debut single “RUN and RUN” (release date: 4/27)!
Those of you who rightfully dislike videos shot in portrait mode will have to restrain yourselves from rotating your phone 90° because the MV for “RUN and RUN” makes it seem as if lyrical school have taken over your device! Scrolling through Twitter, popping up on FaceTime and iMessage, and appearing in short video clips, it doesn’t look that different than what a typical user’s screen might look like if they were filmed for about 4 minutes. It feels like a bit of an updated homage to the MV for A Tribe Called Quest’s classic “Scenario”.

“RUN and RUN” will be released in a limited version and a regular version. The limited version includes 2016 versions of “brand new day” and “S.T.A.G.E”. The coupling song for both versions is “lyrisku no Uta”. In addition to continuing their release events and appearing at events like Gyu-No Fes (April 10), lyrical school will be having a one-man live at CLUB CITTA’ on April 28th to celebrate the release of “RUN and RUN”.
lyrical school have also completed their first movie, “lyrical school no Michi tono Souguu” where they play a group like themselves who meet an alien while working at a music store. It premiered at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival 2016 on February 28, 2016 and will be screened in Tokyo at Cinem@rt Shinjuku on May 28th, in Osaka at Cinem@rt Shinsaibashi on June 18th, and in Nagoya at Cinema Skhole on June 25th.
