NMB48 3rd generation member Kanako Muro announced her graduation from the group during Team N’s theater performance on May 8th. In a comment posted to NMB48 Theater manager Tsuyoshi’ Kaneko’s Google+ account, Muro explained that she had come to the decision to graduate because she wanted to seriously work on being a gravure idol without having to rely on the NMB48 name to help her. She had begun thinking about graduation more than a year before making her announcement as she didn’t want to be half-hearted in her decision. Muro closed by expressing regrets that she would be leaving her fellow group members and fans who has supported her for the past 3 years but asked them to support her on her new path.
A shorter version of Muro’s comments were posted on her Twitter account along with a picture from one of her previous photoshoots.
“During today’s theater performance I announced my graduation. It’s a forward-looking graduation! I wanted to seriously challenge being a gravure idol and after thinking about what to do for over a year, I finally made my decision. I will be stating down a different road from now on but I will be doing my best so, please support me. Here’s a picture from some time ago.”
Kanako Muro’s final performance/event as an NMB48 member has not yet been decided but will be announced as soon as details have been finalized by management.
