Haruka Shimada Announces Her Graduation From AKB48

Haruka Shimada announced her graduation from AKB48 during a SHOWROOM broadcast on April 18, 2017.
While she will be participating in the 2017 AKB48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo, Shimada is planning to graduate from AKB48 and the entertainment industry in September, marking the end of her 8 years in the group since joining in 2009. Having never ranked in any of the Senbatsu Sousenkyo before, this is her last chance.
Tweeting shortly after the broadcast finished, Shimada asked the fans to keep supporting her until the end and expressed her thanks to Mako Kojima and yui Yokoyama for being with her and lending their support while making her important announcement.
