Challenging a New Style? ℃-ute Releases Two Mature MVs “The Middle Management ~Josei Chuukan Kanrishoku~” and “Tsugi no Kado wo Magare”

While ℃-ute has been venturing into various styles in their past singles, it seems like they are entering a new field. The single “The Middle Management~Josei Chuukan Kanrishoku/ Gamusha LIFE/ Tsugi no Kado wo Magare”, official English title “The Middle Management/ TBA/ Turn the Next Corner”, will be released on April 1, 2015. This is their 27th single that pays tribute to the group’s 10th anniversary.

On March 16, 2015, ℃-ute’s official YouTube channel released two MVs for their new single. While “The Middle Management~Josei Chuukan Kanrishoku” is about a young working lady in love, some parts of the lyrics also seems to be singing about ℃-ute themselves. For example, the phrase “By the time I realized what was happening, everyone’s younger than me” may also be captured as a symbol of ℃-ute’s status since they are now the oldest group in Hello! Project.

The single “Tsugi no Kado wo Magare” is a positive song with a catchy melody that sings about the bright future waiting ahead. Both costumes of the two singles are in black and white with high heels, and they look even more like adults. The melody and lyrics of this song is done by Nakajima Takui, who also wrote ANGERME’s “Taiki Bansei”, and we can look forward to his further contributions to Hello! Project.

“The Middle Management~Josei Chuukan Kanrishoku/ Gamusha LIFE/ Tsugi no Kado wo Magare” will be released in 6 different types. The Limited Edition versions (A-C) will be packaged with DVDs with the MVs for the 3 different songs on them: “”The Middle Management~Josei Chuukan Kanrishoku” (Type-A), “Gamusha LIFE” (Type-B), and “Tsugi no Kado wo Magare” (Type-C).

As ℃-ute are challenging new styles in their singles, it looks like there are many opinions towards the direction of “Cool Hello”, which is a general term for Hello-Project! entering a phase that is making the songs and costumes “cool” by being aware of the general audiences.
