ANGERME has revealed the MV for “Nanakorobi Yaoki” from their upcoming triple A-side single “Nanakorobi Yaoki/Gashinshotan/Mahotsukai Sally” (release date: July 22)!
Named after the idiom “fall 7 times, get up 8 times” (nanakorobi yaoki), the lyrics talk about not letting setbacks in life get one down. Such ups and downs have definitely been a part of ANGERME since their days as S/Mileage. Fighting to get 10,000 smiles in order to make their major label debut, performing at the Nippon Budokan for the first time and name change in 2014, and the coming and going of members, the life of an idol is not easy. With the announcement of Kanon Fukuda’s graduation on May 20, 2015, the group has experienced another “down” as they work towards building upon the success of their first single since the name change.
“Mahoutsukai Sally” is a cover of the song from the first magical girl anime in Japanese history and is the ambassador song for the Idol Matsuri anisong cover contest. This is most likely not the official MV for the song but, you can get an idea of what the final product should look like.
Here is their comment about the song as well.
“Nanakorobi Yaoki/Gashinshotan/Mahotsukai Sally” will be released in 6 different versions: 3 Limited Editions (A-C) and 3 Regular versions (A-C). Details about the other contents have yet to be officially released so stay tuned as they become available!
