Rina Kawaei to Graduate from AKB48 : Not be Able to Attend Hand-Shaking Events Was Tough

It is announced that Rina Kawaei is going to graduate from AKB48. The announcement was made during AKB48’s concert at Saitama Super Arena on March 26th and fans almost screamed for the sadness to hear it. She didn’t mention the graduation’s date, but we assume it will be after May 20th, as she is “senbatsu” member for the 40th single “Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai”.

Regard to the graduation’s reason, she said that the shock of being attacked at hand-shaking event is having a lingering effect. Obviously, hand-shaking event is one of the most important things for idols to communicate with fans, but she couldn’t attend hand-shaking events any more after the shocking incident. She said it was tough for her that she couldn’t do that, and there’s no hope that she can do that again in the future.

With tears running on her face, Rina said that she wants to challenge herself as actress, in response to the good reputation of her acting on drama “Gomenne Seisyun!” last year.
