YURUSYACHI : Learn games played at New Year in Japan
This is a series in which members of Team Syachihoko learn about aspects of Japanese culture. In part two, the members will challenge traditional Japanese games played at New Years, such as “fukuwarai”, where players put independent parts of the face (such as eyes, eyebrows, and mouth) onto a blank face by wearing a blindfold, and laugh at the comical results. They will also play “hanetsuki”, similar to badminton without a net, played with a rectangular wooden paddle. Look at who lost the game and got marked on the face with the Indian ink!
