Yurumerumo! Save Japan From “Soy Source” Contamination in the MV for “Hamidasumo”!

Yurumerumo! have just released the MV for “Hamidasumo!” (release date: March 25) and it is a wild mashup of unusual sights and sounds! The members rush to save Japan as all of its drinking water has been turned into shoyu (soy sauce)! Perhaps because they included so many interesting ideas in the video, someone forgot to check how to Romanize “soy sauce” properly because it appears as “soy source” several times? Maybe it’s intentional?

At the very least, we get to see Yurumerumo! fly through the air and fight masked villains with their super powers. Younapi deflects bullets using her twin-tails and Ano knocks everyone out (even the other members of her group!) using her guitar beam! In addition to their new outfits, Yurumerumo! shows off what they would look like if they were office ladies before they transform and put on their flashing LED sunglasses.

The video was directed by Mani Kato, who also directed the MV for “Nemutai CITY vs Dokusho Nikki”. The song was composed and arranged by Hiroyuki Hayashi from the famous Japanese new wave/rock band POLYSICS. It seems that Hayashi also made an appearance in the video. Even though he’s not wearing his suglasses, were you able to spot him?

“Hamidasumo!” will be released in 7 different versions, a regular version, and 1 for each of the 6 members of Yurumerumo! The coupling song “Nan” will be included on all versions. The regular version includes a “Heaven & Hell Remix” of “Hamidasumo! by Tamaya 2060％ and a 4th song “Kikoeru”. The member versions include solo versions of “Hamidasumo!” and a 4th song “1!2! Kung fu!”. Also going on sale on March 25 is their live DVD “2014:A Space Odyssey On Liquid RooMo!” which was filmed at their solo live from August 9th of last year at Ebisu LIQUIDROOM.
