Yuna Ito (Idoling!!! #23) announced her graduation from Idoling!!! and NEO from Idoling!!! at the group’s “NEO-dono LIVE NIGHT” concert at AKIBA Cultures Theater on March 6th. She would also be retiring from the entertainment business and her final event will be “Idoling!!! FES 2015” at Toyosu PIT on April 5th. NEO from Idoling!!! will continue to be active after her graduation.
Yuna Ito joined Idoling!!! as a 4th generation member in 2010 and caught the attention of fans in her efforts to become the face of the group. She became the leader of the subgroup NEO from Idoling!!! when it was formed in August of 2014. In a press release posted on Idoling!!!’s as well as Box Corporation’s (her agency) websites, Ito thanked the fans for the 5 years of supporting her and apologized for the suddenness of the announcement as well as explaining that she began thinking more seriously about her future as her 20th birthday approached (In Japan, one is considered an adult at the age of 20 and is generally expected to become more responsible.).
The graduation announcement of Yuna Ito comes right after the devastating news that Idoling!!! would be disbanding, after 9 years of activity which included a late-night television show with over 1,000 episodes, 23 singles, 6 albums, and 35 members among their accomplishments. That news was preceded by the surprise graduation of Reia Kiyoku (Idoling!!! #34) and graduation announcement of Serina Nagano (Idoling!!! #13) in December of 2014.
However, it is not all bad news in the land of Idoling!!! as the group prepares to release their 6th album “Rodeo Machine” (release date: March 18) and have revealed the MV for the lead track “My Fate”. In the video, the members of Idoling!!! are playing the part of shrine maidens (miko) who must fight off several thugs. Combined with footage of the group dancing together in their black outfits from the cover of the album are fast-paced scenes of them dressed in the traditional white kimono and red hakama while wielding katana on the grounds of a temple.
“Rodeo Machine” is available in limited edition Type-A and Type-B as well as a regular version. Type-A includes a DVD with highlights of Ami Kikuchi’s graduation concert. Type-B includes a Blu-ray disc with the MVs for “Summer Lion”, “Shout!!!”, “Kyupi❤︎”, and “Yuki Usagi”.
