UPUPGIRLS(KARI) Unveil Sparkly MV for “Beautiful Dreamer”

UPUPGIRLS(KARI) have revealed the MV for their upcoming 19th single “Beautiful Dreamer” which will be included on “Beautiful Dreamer/Zenryoku! Pump UP!! – ULTRA Mix – /Itadaki wo Mezase!” on November 4th.

Yusuke Koide, the leader, vocalist, and main songwriter of the rock band Base Ball Bear wrote “Beautiful Dreamer” and the lyrics urge listeners to not give up on their dreams, emphasizing that UPUPGIRLS(KARI) are “going to fight for you”. Visual highlights of the video include the use of ring lights that make the eyes of the 7 members sparkle, colored lights and bubbles which give a wintery feel, and of course, their new black outfits. A live performance video of “Itadaki wo Mezase!” was uploaded to UPUPGIRLS(KARI)’s official YouTube earlier this month.

Although “Zenryoku! Pump Up!!” was included on their previous single “Zenryoku! Pump UP!! / Kono Melody wo Kimi to” which was released in July, this is a remix version. The Limited Edition B version comes with an additional remix of the song “Zenryoku! Pump UP!! DJ WILDPARTY REMIX”. The Limited Edition A version includes a DVD with the MVs for “Beautiful Dreamer” and “Zenryoku! Pump UP!! – ULTRA Mix –”.

Regarding on the new song “Beautiful Dreamer”, a member Sekine commented that ‘The words ‘soft-boiled egg’ appear in the song. Koide-san used these words to express the frustration that we just weren’t able to make a debut from ‘Hello! Project egg (the name of trainees)’. There are lots of thing we have in common and we want to express those parts of ourselves to people, to send out our feelings and thoughts and touch people’s emotions.’

With their sights set on “selling 10,000 copies and getting into the top ten of the Oricon chart”, this triple A-side is the set to become the most important bout for success in the history of the group.

They announced at their event on October 21st that the midway sales for the single had reached 4,532 copies. Just as expected, this is sure to be a close call between victory and defeat – just how will it turn out?
