UPUPGIRLS (KARI) Release Details of Long-Awaited 20th Single “Party People Alien / Seven☆Peace”!

UPUPGIRLS (KARI) have revealed the cover art and details for their 20th single “Party People Alien/Seven☆Peace” (release date: April 5)!

The single was announced during UPUPGIRLS (KARI)’s December 6th finale of their 2015 High Spurt RAVE FESTIVAL 2-hour nonstop live at Zepp Tokyo. Having achieved a 7th place Oricon weekly ranking with their previous single “Beautiful Dreamer/Zenryoku! Pump UP!! – ULTRA Mix – /Itadaki wo Mezase!” (release date: November 4, 2014), the group set a goal to crack the top 3 and sell more than 40,000 copies for their 20th single. The covers were designed by hip-hop photographer cherry chill will and BLACK BELT JONES DC (designer of the collaboration goods with Reversal).

“Party People Alien/Seven☆Peace” will be released in 3 different versions: Limited Type-A, Limited Type-B, and a regular version. Each version includes a 3rd bonus track: “Shout!!!!!!!” (Limited Type-A), “Seishun no Namida” (Limited Type-B), and “Appaare” (Regular). “Party People Alien” was composed and arranged by michitomo with lyrics by NOBE. With michitomo already having turned UPUPGIRLS (KARI) into beasts with “Bijo no Yajuu”, will they rise up to an extraterrestrial existence with “Party People Alien”? The song has been described as a flashy EDM tune, keeping with the group’s recent sound. “Seven☆Peace” was composed and arranged by PandaBoy, who also wrote the lyrics. While he described the sound as being really upbeat, he also mentions how he struggled in getting things just right in order to create a powerful message to go along with it.

“Shout!!!!!!!” (Limited Type-A), which was composed and arranged by michitomo, who also wrote the lyrics, is pure EDM and has been a fixture in UPUPGIRLS (KARI) live performances since it was debuted several months ago.

“Seishun no Namida” (Limited Type-B) is another EDM-style song which has been performed at UPUPGIRLS (KARI) lives for the past few months. Unlike “Shout!!!!!!!”, it incorporates more elements of J-pop into the sound via the composition and arrangement of Ryuichi Kawasaki. The lyrics are by Sutsuka Hiwatari.

“Appaare” (Regular) has been one of UPUPGIRLS (KARI)’s most popular songs since it was revealed early in the summer of 2015 and was previously only available as a digital download from their DVD “Zenkoku 47 Todofuken Tour 2015 -Run! Apuga Run! Dash-” (release date: August 18, 2015). There are several links to other live performances of it and the MV in a previous article from 2015 if you can’t get enough.

As the information was just released, links to pre-order online are still on their way. UPUPGIRLS (KARI) will be performing “Party People Alien” and “Seven☆Peace” during a release event for the single on February 26, 2016 so if you’re going, make sure to get there extra early!
