Fans of former BiS member Tentenko can now rest easy and look forward to being able to hear more music from the diminutive daredevil girl. For her first post-BiS project she has chosen to go the route of synthpop and the video for “Good bye, Good girl” is overflowing with retro images.
Shot with what appears to be a VHS camera in the neighborhood of Uguisudani, unless you notice small details like the 1 or 2 people using smartphones in the background, the sign for the Tonkatsu burger at McDonald’s (it went on sale a few weeks ago) or the can of Red Bull in Tentenko’s hand, the video looks like it could have been from the 1980’s.
In order to facilitate wider distribution of her debut EP of the same name, Tentenko has turned to crowd-funding where she reached her goal of 500,000 yen on opening day and managed to receive almost 2.3 million yen in pledges by the time it ended. While some might have been worried for her future when it was announced that she would be “free” at the end of BiS’ final concert on July 8th, it appears that Tentenko is doing what she wants and has found a way to do it.
