S/mileage Adds 3 New Members on Opening Day of Musical!

On October 4th S/mileage introduced their 3 new members at a press conference held before the opening performance of their musical “Engeki Joshibu S/mileage JUKEBOX MUSICAL: SMILE FANTASY!” at Zenrousai Space Zero.

The 3rd generation members were selected from Hello Pro Kenshuusei: Maho Aikawa (15), Rikako Sasaki (13), and Mizuki Murota (16). When asked how she felt when she first heard the news, Murota said, “At first, I was extremely surprised but also truly happy.” Sasaki added, “I blanked out when I heard the announcement but, from now on, with these members, I want to do my best to reach the top!” Aikawa commented, “I had always wanted to join (S/mileage), so when I heard I was picked, I was super happy, and so I want to do my best from now on.”

Starting with the New Year, the 3rd generation members will begin participating in S/mileage performances and a single featuring the new 9-member lineup will follow shortly. In the meantime, S/mileage’s musical “Engeki Joshibu S/mileage JUKEBOX MUSICAL: SMILE FANTASY!” will be running until October 13th and they are still accepting ideas from fans on their new name until October 31 11:59pm (JST). With a new name and 9-members, be excited for what 2015 has in store for S/mileage (or whatever their new name will be)!
