Today, AKB48’s Rina Kawaei made her complete comeback on the stage of AKB48 theater, joining TeamA regular performance “Renai Kinshi Jourei.”
This marked her first theater performance to appear since she was attacked at a handshake event by a man with a saw earlier this year.

Fans in the theater received her warmly saying “Okaeri~! (Welcome back!)”, then she smiled and said “Tadaima~! (I’m home!) Thank you for waiting!.”

Then she added “I’ve made you all wait for four and a half months, but I’m returning to theater performance today and I’ve received so much support from you all. I feel that theater performance is the only place where I get to see my fans eye to eye and connect through eye contact. What makes me happy is to deliver my performance to you on the stage. I look forward to continue performing in the theater with all my heart and energy. Thank you very much for coming today.”

After Kawaei told her delight to fans, the general manager Minami Takahashi shared her thought again, “Thank you all so much for waiting. We, as team A, are happy to welcome Kawaei back on stage again. Thanks to you all, I’ve been performing on this stage for 9 years as well. But there is nothing I take for granted, and every single moment, all the encounters, eye contact, and mutual cheering between you and us, all of these are very precious to us and they are what keep us going forward. We appreciate every single moment on the stage, and we’ll continue to do our best with each other and our fans. We thank you all for your continuous support for team A.”

Ricchan’s comeback encouraged fans who had been very worried. We wish this would put an end on the chapter of accident.
