Shiina Pikarin reveals the playfully morbid MV for “Makai Shinjuu” from her upcoming single “Makai Shinjuu/MITSU TO BATSU” (release date: May 3)!
The MV directed by inventor of the Hikaru Skirt, Kiyoyuki Amano (Kayac) opens with Pikarin fleeing from a sexy ghost. As the word shinjuu (心中) means “double suicide” or “lovers’ suicide”, perhaps the ghost is Pikarin’s lover going to bring her to the other side so they can be together?
One of the visually impressive highlights has to be the scenes where she is playing the custom painted guitar that has been impaled by illuminated rods (or lightsabers if you prefer). “Makai Shinjuu” was composed by Kazuki Sato and the lyrics were written by Pikarin, giving listeners a glimpse into the darkness that resides in her heart.
“Makai Shinjuu/MITSU TO BATSU” will be released in 5 different versions showing off the different sides of Pikarin. “MITSU TO BATSU” was composed by Keita Tanaka with lyrics written by Junnosuke Watanabe (BiS, BiSH, POP, BILLIE IDLE®). Kenta Matsukuma (BiS, BiSH, Shoko Nakagawa, PiiiiiiiN) returns as the sound producer for the single. Pikarin will promoting “Makai Shinjuu/MITSU TO BATSU” with 10 straight days of release events in the Tokyo area starting on April 29th before moving out to Nagoya and Osaka at the end of May. Be sure to check her official site and Twitter for more details.
