MTV Iggy Artist to Watch Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s music is a pure, super-concentrated J-pop sugar rush, devised by mastermind producer Yasutaka Nakata. Her style is … something else entirely. She calls it “new kawaii.” We would describe it as extremes of adorableness with a generous sprinkling of all things weird, macabre, and not quite right.
