Harajuku’s cultural festival “HARAJUKU KAWAii!! WEEK 2014” will be held over three days from May 3rd – 5th! There will be more celebrations in Okinawa, Osaka and Nagoya!
Under the theme of “Making ‘KAWAII’ a global keyword for fashion”, “HARAJUKU KAWAii!!” offers live music performances as well as fashion shows. In October 2013, its previous free event “HARAJUKU KAWAii!! FES 2013 @HARAJUKU TOWN” attracted more than 20,000 visitors! This upcoming festival will offer a bunch of parties everywhere in Harajuku including shopping centers, small retail stores and even on the streets! “HARAJUKU KAWAii!! WEEK 2014”, which is sponsored by the town of Harajuku, will offer visitors a chance to experience Japanese pop culture!
“HARAJUKU KAWAii!! WEEK 2014” will feature “Ameba 10th anniversary” and showcase popular aomoji-kei models such as Shiho Takechi, Rina Tanaka, Fumiko Aoyagi, Natsume Mito, Ski Shibata and Ayumi Seto as well as models known for their Ameba blogs such as Hikari Shina and Ai Matsumoto. Additional models and performers will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event! Be sure to stay tuned for more exciting news!
