At long last, the newest Hello! Project has a name! First announced at Hello! Project’s January 2 winter concert, the group consists of 8 former Hello Pro Kenshuusei: Rio Fujii, Ayano Hamaura, Ayaka Hirose, Rei Inoue, Minami Nomura, Rena Ogawa, Natsumi Taguchi, and Sakurako Wada.
Kobushi is a Japanese magnolia that is the first to bloom at the beginning of springtime, and is also the word for “fist” in Japanese so it conveys the meaning of refined grace as well as strength. “Factory” was chosen by Saki Shimizu so in a small way it will be inheriting the spirit of Berryz Kobo (kobo is Japanese for “workshop”) as well.
You can see the moment when the members have the name of the group revealed to them (and other Hello! Project news) on the video below.
As the members of Kobushi Factory are currently rehearsing for the musical “Week End Survivor”, they will be releasing a special DVD/CD single “Nen ni wa Nen/Survivor” that will only be available at BIG TREE THEATER in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. “Week End Survivor” runs from March 26th until April 5th.
