About an 8 minute walk from Shibuya Station, near a park, there is The Second Most Delicious Ice Cream Melon Bread in the World (Sekai de Nibanme ni Oishii Melon Pan Aisu).Melon Pan is made from an enriched dough covered in a thin layer of crisp cookie dough, and the appearance resembles a melon, so that’s why we call it Melon Pan! Especially young girls tend to love Melon Pan here in Japan.

The shop opened last July, but it is already very popular and getting a great amount of media exposure. As we walk up the slope and towards the shop, about 10 meters away from the store an enticing sweet smell drifts towards us. We can already tell that it’s going to be a treat!

There are people who stop right in front of the store, as if they are mesmerized by the sweet smell. Even though it’s a weekday afternoon, the long line doesn’t seem to end.

The menu consists of vanilla ice cream sandwiched between melon bread, pineapple flavored melon bread ice cream sandwich, and a chocolate flavored melon bread ice cream sandwich (limited to 20 a day).

Tokyo Rad Girls Marimanchu chose the plain melon bread ice cream sandwich. It seems like the pineapple and chocolate flavors are the most popular for foreign travelers.
