Dempagumi.inc’s “Dempari Night” is an Audio-Visual Assault on the Senses at the Speed of Dempa!

Dempagumi have raised the curtain on their upcoming single “Dempari Night” (release date: November 26, 2014) and it is a night that you will not soon forget!

The video was directed Smith, who previously directed the videos for “Not Bocchi…Natsu” and “Fancy Hoppe ♡ U-Fu-Fu” and many of Team Syachihoko’s videos so it is full of many unique images.

The video opens with a carnival-esque fast pace, Dempagumi flying through the sky in colorful wedges, accompanied by Latin percussion and spiraling keyboards. It then switches to scenes of the members being joined on screen by copies of themselves, including a scene where Mirin Furukawa sings alongside her mirror image.

The scene then switches to a colorful stage where Dempagumi glide and jump around the stage in typical Dempa fashion before the camera zooms through a series of picture frames being held by the different members. The “Dempa-ception” ends with Nemu Yumemi sitting on a bed back to back with Moga Mogami as the song slows down. Eimi Naruse pops up from behind the headboard like a sunrise in a cartoon, bringing the song back to its teeth-rattling pace as backup dancers in cosplay and kigurumi join them.

After another short slow section, this time featuring Risa Aizawa and Ayane Fujisaki, the song kicks back into high gear with the outfits of the members being highlighted by LEDs. Our only criticism is that they should have gotten some LED sneakers to complete the look but, with so many things packed into the video, it was probably easy to overlook. The ending is like something out of a musical or a parade at Disneyland or Sanrio Puroland. One thing is for sure, “Dempari Night” will be sure to show you something new no matter how many times you watch it!
