BABYMETAL Make UK Debut at Sonisphere!

The hottest artist in Japan, BABYMETAL, will make their UK debut at the large scale rock festival “Sonisphere Festival UK” that will be held at Knebworth House from July 4th to 6th.

The icon pop and heavy metal band, whose latest single, Gimme Chocolate!!, generated more than five million views. It became a hot topic that their 1st album released in February ranked in US Billboard HOT 200.

On March 22, they ranked 187 on the American “Billboard 200” general top album chart, and broke the record as the youngest of the few Japanese artists to rank on the general chart. In addition to the Billboard chart, they ranked in 5 categories, including breaking into the “Heatseekers Albums” chart of up-and-coming new artists at number 20 and jumping to number 4 the following week, and ranking number 2 on the “World Albums” chart, number 12 on the “Hard Rock Albums” chart, and number 34 on the “Independent Albums” chart.

They reached number 1 on the American, British, and German iTunes metal album charts; were in many top 10 rock album charts including the American, British, Australian, Canadian, Irish, Swedish, and Japanese; and have been attracting the attention of music fans worldwide.

In March, BABYMETAL played a 2-day concert without any supporting acts at the “Holy Land of Japanese Rock,” the Nippon Budokan, ending the Japanese first chapter of their career, and will now be heading to the UK, the birthplace of rock, to do their first European concert and start their international second chapter.

There are so many different types of artists playing this festival but I hope to deliver a one and only, unique style metal – BABYMETAL – even to those who will see us for the very first time. This will be our very first time in the UK, which makes us nervous yet excited just imagining what type of people will come and see us, what sort of show it will end up being, and whether the audience will enjoy our show.”

The festival will start on Friday July 6 and will be headlined by Iron Maiden, Metallica and The Prodigy.

Accourding to the source, BABYMETAL is planning to hold their first one-man concert tour in Europe this year.
