BABYMETAL finally released their long-awaited new album “METAL RESISTANCE” on April 1st, today. As expected, it hits the world chart soon after the release.
Its highest so far has been #1 on the all albums chart in Japan, and in America, it reached #3 on the all albums chart and #1 on the metal chart. It has also been ranked #6 on the official chart of Amazon USA in America.
A #3 ranking, not for a specific genre, but on the comprehensive chart in the USA, is a feat. It has even surpassed music stars like Zayn, Pet Shop Boys, and Adele.
On the day of the release of a new album, BABYMETAL announced that they will be performing the group’s first Tokyo Dome show, “FOX DAY,” as the world tour finale on September 19th.
Tomorrow, the 2nd, they will be performing at The SSE Arena, Wembley, the first time for this Japanese group. Though a large facility that accommodates 12,500 people, local media have reported that advance tickets are already sold out. The UK is their “second home,” where BABYMETAL’s appearance in a metal festival created a sensation, and was the trigger for an international breakthrough. They are off on their world tour with their new album.
