Ayano Hosaka, founding member of Kyushu dance and vocal unit GALETTe, announced her graduation from the group.
Hosaka, who is also a solo artist, explained that due to GALETTe shifting their base of activities from Fukuoka to Tokyo, she would graduate from the group after their February 1st performance at @JAM the Field vol. 7. While it is fairly common for many “local idol groups” to perform in Tokyo several times a month, it sounds like GALETTe’s relocation would have made it more difficult to Hosaka to balance GALETTe and her solo activities.
This news comes as GALETTe had reached their highest Oricon ranking with their latest single “She is WANNABE!” which peaked at #11 but, it should not be that surprising that the “dream team” of the Kyushu idol scene would have members keeping their options open. Yui Komori was a first generation member of HKT48’s Team H and former member Shihori Murayama, who left the group in the spring of 2014 due to poor health, had been in at least 4 different Fukuoka idol groups before joining GALETTe.
If you’re a fan of GALETTe and Ayano Hosaka in particular, do all you can to see them perform as a quartet for the last time on February 1st for @JAM the Field vol. 7!
