
Heisei’s Last Anime Season, Here We Go! 5 Spring Anime that You Must Check!

On March 26th (Sat) and 27th (Sun) at Tokyo Big Site, one of the biggest Japanese anime festival “Anime Japan 2016” was held. This year is the third opening, and the visitors increased by 111% over last year. From the gaining popularity, Anime Japan 2017 has been decided for next year! As its slogan holds up, everything about anime was there at Anime Japan, so we have reported two upcoming anime events: Natsume Yuujinchou Stage and D. Gray-man Stage. The report here puts together the whole festival with exclusive photos with remarks written by one anime otaku!
Anime relating companies held their booth to play the advanced screening of the promotion video, to have a pre-sale of anime goods, to welcome the guests for their original events, and more! We will introduce some of the booths that takes us back to the history of anime and also makes us seek the future of anime.
Good Smile Company & Ultra Super Pictures Booth
The tower of Nendroid, a short sized deformation figure series, box amazed us before even stepping into the booth! Nendroid celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with every Nendroid and Nendroid Petit Series displayed in the booth.

TMS ENTERTAINMENT CO., LTD. Booth
TMS Entertainment opened a booth mainly for two pushing anime this year! One is “Bakuon!!”, story about bike riding high school girls who enjoy their school life with their bike.
The booth welcomed the guests with the bike (model bike drawn in the anime).
Also, Allen and Lavi distributed the new visual handouts for D. Gray-man Hollow that will be on air this summer!

Megumi Kato Project Booth
From the anime “Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata”, a project featuring the heroine Megumi Kato appeared here at the Big Site. This project is a trial display where you can experience dating Megumi Kato, who is drawn by Kurehito Misaki’s graphic design, and acted out by Kiyono Yasuno and latest synthetic technology voice, using Sony’s forefront interactive projection technique.

Fate/ Grand Order opened up a booth with a big booth: displaying an ita-sports car with cosplayed models and life-sized figure of treasure tool.

ANIPLEX Booth
Almost 25 panels from famous to new anime characters appeared to add a touch of color to the ANIPLEX Booth, which is one of the biggest booth this year at the event. It displayed special goods in the past and latest goods that fans could get at the booth.

We saw many people cosplaying at the booth and the cosplay area. Long lines were created to shoot the cosplayers who have changed in favorite characters.
Because of the renewal work coming up, we saw many D. Gray-man costumes. Here is Lenalee Lee from D. Gray-man.
From LoveLive!, we found school uniform version, which is very popular from the start of the project.

The new Japanese culture, anime, and Japanese traditional culture collaborates to create a new sense of Japanese creation. This time, “THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS” × “GIFU-WAGASA (Gifu Prefecture)”Japanese Umbrella (Sae Kobayakawa “Hana Kanzashi” Ver./Work Collaboration “Into the Dream” Ver.) was displayed for this event which many attendees carried their feet to watch this premium collaboration!

Right in front of the Super Colaboration, the anime apparel brand Super Groupies booth was opened with an image of otaku girl’s luxurious closet, filled with apparel goods collaborated with anime! The newest Madoka Magika lingerie were also displayed at the booth.

The main was a collaboration dress with Idol M@ster Cinderella Girls which maintained the image of Cinderella using the color blue and added Cinderella Girls fully on the dress.
