AKB48‘s Yuko Oshima announced suddenly her graduation from the group during the performance at NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen.
Just after they performed “Koisuru Fortune Cookie”, she took the microphone and declared suddenly “Allow me to use this opportunity to make an announcement. I, Yuko Oshima, decided my graduation from AKB48.”

It threw the audience into an uproar. Takahashi Minami became teary-eyed, and the other members were surprised because they didn’t know anything about that.

Yuko continued, “This becomes my last Kohaku Uta Gassen, I’m pleased to sing with my great gratitude. Please support AKB48 in 2014, too” and added “This is our last performance in 2013, let’s party!”
Then, AKB48 performed “Heavy Rotation” in that Oshima serves as the center.

After AKB48’s performance was finished, Arashi’s members ran up to Yuko.
Kazunari Ninomiya said “I’m so surprised. Did you all know?.” To hear that, Yuko replied, “No.  I hadn’t told that to anyone.”
She explained again, “I decided to graduate from AKB48. From now, I’ll continue my activities as a solo, Yuko Oshima.”

Details on her graduation has not been announced yet.  Every fans is now concerned about her next announcement.

In 2006, at the AKB48’s second audition to form Team K, Yuko Oshima was selected out of a pool of 12,000 applicants to join the team.
