AKB48 Handshake Event Resumed after 41 Days from the Slashing Incident

After 41 days, AKB48 resumed their handshake event on July 5 at Tokyo Big Sight. Since the slashing incident that took place in Iwate Prefecture on May 25, all the other handshake events in places such as Nagoya had been postponed.
A few members was absent from the event. Anna Iriyama and Kawaei Rina are still recuperating from their injury, while Minami Minegishi is devoting herself to treatment for kidney cyst.
The handshake style was changed. Participants should pass the baggage check and the metal detector. Then also, there were many security guards.
However, the fans and members enjoyed the event as before. Under the increased security, the handshake event was carried out safely.
