Tanuki Soup: Opening Day of “HKT48 Sashihara Rino Zachou Kouen” at Meiji-za (Part 2)!

Determined to rescue Okuni, Kinuta storms off with Ohagi to the home of Toyotomi. Shape-shifting into Toyotomi, Kinuta orders his men to let Okuni go free and to pay her for her troubles. However, the real Toyotomi shows up, accompanied by the members of Hakata Okuni Ichiza, ruining the rescue plan.
It turned out that the members of Hakata Okuni Ichiza were actually Kinuta’s tanuki family that decided to help her rescue Okuni. It looked like they were going to be successful since they had taken the real Toyotomi hostage but, once again the tanuki were powerless against the sound of the festival drum and they ended up dancing their way into a corner. Attempting to escape during the confusion, Okuni tried to dance like a tanuki but was caught by Toyotomi’s men.
With the tanuki family and Okuni both captured, Okuni told Toyotomi that she would sacrifice herself for the sake of Kinuta’s sisters. This caught Toyotomi by surprise since he thought that his offer made her just as happy as he was.
Just when it looked like the end for the tanuki family, Kinuta appeared as a prince on a white horse. Raising her sword, the tanuki were re-energized and joined by the tanuki boss. While the tanuki fought off the samurai, Kinuta and Okuni made their escape as they flew away on the horse.
During the battle Komame (Meru Tashima) was wounded and Kinoko (Mio Tomonaga) watched over her motionless body as swords clashed and bodies fell around them. Although Toyotomi and his men had already defeated the tanuki, he experienced a change of heart and decided to call a truce between the two sides and let them go free. Komame recovered and there was peace between humans and tanuki in the land.
Having escaped safely, Okuni thanked Kinuta for saving her and called on the other members of Hakata Okuni Ichiza to perform with her as the center member. Starting off with the dance intro to “River”, they continued with “Sakura, Minna de Tabeta” as sakura petals fluttered down from above. With this scene, the 1st half of “HKT48 Sashihara Rino Zachou Kouen” came to an end.
Once again, there were so many amazing pictures that there was no way to put them all in one report. The second half of “HKT48 Sashihara Rino Zachou Kouen” is closer to the kind of performances that HKT48 is known for doing (with several amazing additions).
