SUPER☆GiRLS and Wasuta Go 60 Minutes Nonstop at Shinjuku BLAZE!
As the 2016 Rio Olympics were coming to a close on August 22nd, halfway around the world at Shinjuku BLAZE in the middle of Tokyo, destination of the 2020 Olympics, SUPER☆GiRLS leader Ami Maeshima managed to win a gold medal as they kicked off a pair of 60-minute nonstop lives “Hashiru Hito Presents ‘Nonstop Zenryoku Live 2016’ Supported by New Balance” with Wa-suta.
Dressed head to toe in sportswear by New Balance, SUPER☆GiRLS and Wasuta showed the limits of their physical fitness and athleticism for an hour each featuring sped up versions of their upbeat songs in the first day of the nonstop live series featuring the groups of iDOL Street. Continuing on from the previous year, the excitement had only grown, as idols joined forces with popular running magazine Hashiru Hito to sweat alongside their fans. With a combined total of 6,142 steps tallied, Maeshima was awarded the gold medal for the day. Due to a technical malfunction with her pedometer, SUPER☆GiRLS’ Yumeri Abe came in last place with only 8 steps registered. What kind of punishment will be in store for her during the next live?
