Seiko Oomori, who garnered an increasing amount of attention though festivals and live concerts after she began her major musical career last year, announced on her official web site and personal blog that the Oomori Seiko & THE Pink Tokarev, the band formed with her as the center lead, will disband.

It was suddenly decided that Oomori Seiko & THE Pink Tokarev, who had increased the momentum of their activities over a period of about three and a half years, and had continuously made appearances at festivals and concerts, and starred in television music programs, would no longer continue with their activities. Although Oomori Seiko & THE Pink Tokarev’s first major CD release “Tokarev” has already been scheduled for March 4th, it was decided to put an end to their activity that lasted around three and a half years.

On her official site, music staff and agents announced the following, “Although Tokarev, which goes on sale March 4th, will be the first and last album by Oomori Seiko & THE Pink Tokarev, its music will not disappear. If Oomori Seiko & THE Pink Tokarev and its music continues to be loved by everyone and lives on in all of your hearts, it would make us beyond happy.”

On her personal blog she wrote, “If there are 10,000 people, then in order to pull 10,000 people into my world, I must have 10,000 people’s worth of experiences, and in that direction that I, Seiko Oomori have dived head first, awkwardly stumbling into my work from the beginning of the new year. As if shedding my own skin, I’ve cut and dyed my hair, and on bad days, I’ve even tossed my clothes into the trash, while thinking about how I can’t wait for the band to grow. I’ve said that you should live fast while you’re young, even though I’m the youngest and nearing thirty” and other details and thoughts on how she arrived at the decision to disband.

Among all of this, the MV to “Saishu Koen”(The last performance) , from their first and last album, Tokarev, has been revealed.
