PASSPO☆ Takes Off Again & Shows their Re-debut Single “Mr.Wednesday” Under the Bright Sky!

On December 20th, PASSPO☆ held a free flight event (flight = live performance) for their re-debut single “Mr.Wednesday” under Nippon Crown at Tokyo Dome City LaQua garden stage, and performed the new song for the first time in public.

本日12月20日、PASSPO☆が日本クラウンからのRe:デビューシングル「Mr.Wednesday」のフリーフライトイベントを東京ドームシティラクーアにて行い、同楽曲を初披露した。

The song, Mr.Wednesday, is their first single release in about one and a half years since they released “Himawari” on August 20th, 2014. So, the venue was filled with passengers (a name of PASSPO☆ fans) who had eagerly looked forward to the anticipated new song.

2014年8月20日「向日葵」以来の約1年半ぶりのシングルリリースということもあり、新曲披露を心待ちにしていた大勢のパッセンジャーが会場に駆けつけた。

PASSPO☆ kicked off the event with performing their major debut song “Shoujo Hikou”.

イベントは、メジャーデビュー曲「少女飛行」からスタート。

During the first MC section, they ignited the flame of audience’s heart with saying “Today is the first day of our re-debut release events. Everyone! Boys & Girls! Let’s dance together!!”. Immediately after they said so, they performed the rockstyle tune “Material Girl”. Loud cheering voice resounded in the bright and clear winter sky.

「今日から、Re:デビューのリリースイベントがスタートします！男の子も女の子もみんなで踊りましょー！！」と大勢のパッセンジャーを煽り、「マテリアルGirl」をパフォーマンスすると、快晴の冬空に大きな歓声がこだました。

They also performed “HONEY DISH” and “Pretty Lie” without a break. The atmosphere of the venue got flamed more and more. We could feel that the “songs” are growing up with members as well. The set list was just like a track of PASSPO☆.
その後も会場の盛り上がりは最高潮のまま、「HONEY DISH」「Pretty Lie」を連続パフォーマンス。それぞれの楽曲の成長を実感できるような、まるでPASSPO☆の足跡が凝縮されたようなセットリストだった。

After the short MC, they finally performed their re-debut song “Mr.Wednesday” for the very first time.
The song has got more pop sound and “American pop” taste that PASSPO☆ trying to present since their latest album “Beef or Chicken”, and it must be the exact song to represent their “re-debut” .

MCを挟み、いよいよRe:デビュー曲「Mr.Wednesday」が初披露された。前アルバム「Beef or Chicken」で披露されたPASSPO☆の新コンセプト「アメリカンポップ」をさらに強く、ポップさを増したようなその新曲は、彼女たちの再出発にもマッチした最高に高揚感の溢れる楽曲であった。

The generous applause broke out at the end of the song. Then, Ai Negishi, the captain of PASSPO☆, replied “Thanks to everyone’s support, we were able to hold the release event for this new song after a long while. We would like to grow this song as always we released new songs in the past. We’ll start the year of 2016 with this song, so please support us and love Mr.Wednesday!”

初披露が終わると、会場からは溢れんばかりの拍手が巻き起こった。
キャプテン根岸は「2015年はリリースができない時期があって、久々の新曲でまたこうやってリリースイベントが今日できたのはここにいるみなさんのおかげです。本当にありがとうございます。新曲はいつもそうなんですけど、どんどんこの曲を育てていきたいと思いますし、2016年はこの曲で私たちは出発するので、Mr.WednesdayとともにPAASPO☆をよろしくお願いします！」と挨拶。

Following that, Negishi added “We want to sing the very first song that we performed as PASSPO☆, hoping Mr.Wednesday would be the song for our new start!”. Then they wrapped up the event with the cheerful song, “Let it go!!”.

さらに「Mr.Wednesdayが私たちのスタートの曲になるように、私たちPASSPO☆が本当の本当に最初に歌った曲をここで歌いたいと思います。」とMCを締めくくり、最後は、「Let it go!!」で会場を再度沸騰させた。

PASSPO☆ will be holding a release flight event at Venus Fort, Odaiba, Tokyo on January 9th, 2016. They are going to show off the new costume for “Mr.Wednesday” at the event. Furthermore, they have already announced that they will hold the big 3 cities concert tour titled “Mr.Wednesday TouMeiHan Flight Tour” in February, 2016.

PASSPO☆は年明け1月9日に行われる東京・お台場ヴィーナスフォートでのリリースフライトイベントにて「Mr.Wednesday」の新衣装を披露する予定。さらに、Re:デビュー曲「Mr.Wednesday」を引っさげ、「Mr.Wednesday 東名阪フライトツアー」も決定している。
2016年、Re:デビューで新たに原点回帰を果たすPASSPO☆の成長から目が離せない。
