On March 1, 2016, Nogizaka46 unveiled the music video for their 14th single “Harujion ga Sakukoro”, on the group’s official YouTube channel. This is the last single for 1st Generation member Mai Fukagawa, who is also the center and has a solo B-side.

The video is directed by Yuki Yamato, who also directed “Gomen ne Zutto”, a solo by Nanase Nishino of Nogizaka46. It was filmed at the main hall of the Old Matsumoto High School, a designated Important Cultural Property of Japan, in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture.

In the video, the Nogizaka46 girls portrayed members of an opera troupe from the Taisho Period. 2nd Generation member Miona Hori was newly admitted to the troupe and showed up only to find out Fukagawa’s character is “graduating” from the troupe.

At the end of the video, during the credits, Fukagawa can be seen walking away from the Sony Music Entertainment building in Nogizaka.

Reactions to the video from overseas fans are as follows –
“Probably the most beautiful Nogizaka46 music video ever made. The color schemes and filters used were very nice, and everyone looked amazing in it. The ending was also very touching.”

“My first thought after watching the video was, ‘She is really leaving…’ I guess I was not thinking too much about it and now it finally hit me, which made the music video a really emotional experience for me. It is both sad and beautiful, a perfect goodbye song.”

“This video nicely captures the heart-breaking moment a person says farewell to the people they loved and worked with for so long. It is a strongly emotional video made for the group and Fukagawa to say their goodbyes to each other. The ending is very heart-breaking as Fukagawa reflects on the time she spent in the group while uttering the group’s motto repeatedly before saying goodbye and heading off to her unknown future.”

“The video was beautifully crafted. It was very moving, especially Fukagawa’s monologue at the end.”
