Ultimate Future Weapons mofu Step into the “RED ZONE” for Their 2nd Single!

Neo-Japanese group Ultimate Future Weapons mofu (Saishuu Mirai Heiki mofu) have embraced their futuristic side in the MV for their 2nd single “RED ZONE” (release date: December 9)!

Since the MV for their first single “Kaishin no Ichigeki – Critical Massive Attack”, they’ve cut their hair short and seem to have taken on a more modern look. While the bright red torii from the previous video makes an appearance at the beginning, the main setting is a bright white room which looks like it belongs in a spacecraft or love hotel. There are still flourishes of traditional Japanese music but, it feels more like Perfume than Heisei Kotohime this time. However, this may be unfair because just because Perfume is the most famous J-pop trio in the world should not mean that every trio to come after them is merely a copy. Perhaps this is just the beginning of many different styles that Ultimate Future Weapons mofu have in their arsenal?

“RED ZONE” will be sold in 3 different versions: PASSION, BLOOD, and LOVE. The coupling song for the PASSION version is titled “TOMORROWLAND”. The coupling song for the BLOOD version is titled “Color of fantasy”. The coupling song for the LOVE version is titled “orion”. In the video below, the members talk about the different songs and the characteristics of each one. There are also some deleted scenes from when they were filming their comment video about “RED ZONE”, which is below that video.

They also shot a short movie for “TOMORROWLAND” in the streets of Harajuku. It seems like white eyelashes are a fashion item for some people in Tokyo, but just remember that what’s fashionable for some may not work for all.
