Lovely★DOLL has unwrapped the cute and girly MV for their first single on FUJIYAMA PROJECT JAPAN, “Calendar Girl” (release date: July 21)!
Since the addition of 4 new members Riona Ota (ex-NMB48), Rira (Lilha) Nakagawa (ex-Jewel♡Kiss), Arisa Yoshihashi (ex-TOKYO TORiTSU Kore de Iinkai), and Miki Sakura it seems that Lovely★DOLL has returned to the “royal road” (“Oudou” 王道 is used to describe more conventional pop sounds, particularly in idol music, one example would be Rev from DVL). While there are many cute scenes, the parts where there are borders on both sides feel a bit like watching a video someone took with their phone. Fans of Miki Sakura will be delighted to see that she receives a generous amount of time on screen, despite having the least amount of experience as an idol.
“Calendar Girl” will be released in a CD/DVD version as well as limited and regular CD-only versions. The DVD will have the MV and making of clip for “Calendar Girl”. The coupling songs are titled “LOVE♡BEAM” and “Paradise In the summer（RAM RIDER REMIX)”. The original version of “Paradise In the summer” hit the #1 position on the daily Oricon charts when it was released during the summer of 2013. Here is the MV for it.
In addition to promoting “Calendar Girl”, Lovely★DOLL will be appearing at events like Tokyo Idol Festival 2015, @JAM EXPO, and Idol Koushien as they gear up for their 6th one-man live at Shibuya Public Hall (Shibuya Koukaidou) on September 13, 2015.
